Role: Cyber Information Assurance Specialist
Location: Any Accenture UK location
Career Level: Level 9 – Specialist
Security Clearance: Offer of employment subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC clearance, requiring 5 years UK address history with no periods >30 consecutive days outside UK.
Responsibilities
- Apply assurance principles across laws, regulations, standards and frameworks.
- Identify real‑world security risks and support stakeholders in understanding and managing them effectively.
- Take a practical, hands‑on approach to assurance and control evaluation.
- Build experience in operational assurance within a business context.
- Broaden understanding of cybersecurity domains such as security management, architecture, engineering and operations.
- Contribute to service delivery and project work, with opportunities to gain experience in Agile and DevOps environments.
Qualifications
- Awareness of major cloud technologies, with experience reviewing, assessing or risk‑managing at least one platform such as Azure or AWS.
- Solid foundational understanding of information risk, including how to identify, assess, prioritise and communicate risks in a structured way.
- Collaborative approach, working effectively with technical and business teams to support assurance activities, supported by a working knowledge of key security standards and good‑practice frameworks such as ISO 27001, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and relevant controls guidance (e.g. NIST SP 800‑53).
- Understanding of how security management systems are designed and operated.
- Experience supporting threat and vulnerability management activities.
- Ability to review and assess security controls to understand their effectiveness in reducing risk.
