Accenture Song accelerates growth and value for our clients through sustained customer relevance. Our capabilities span ideation to execution: growth, product and experience design; technology and experience platforms; creative, media and marketing strategy; and campaign, content and channel orchestration. With strong client relationships and deep industry expertise, we help our clients operate at the speed of life through the unlimited potential of imagination, technology and intelligence.

As a Commerce Engineer at Accenture Song, you'll be at the sharp end of building the next generation of agentic commerce — designing, prototyping and shipping AI-powered experiences for some of the world's leading retail and consumer brands. You'll work at the intersection of client needs, creative problem-solving and hands‑on engineering, using generative AI and modern development tools to turn ideas into working solutions. This is a role for someone who is comfortable with code, confident with clients and curious about how AI can reshape commerce. You should be technically confident, commercially curious and able to make complex AI concepts understandable to non‑technical stakeholders.

What You Will Do

  • Work directly with clients, strategists, designers, architects and delivery teams to shape AI-powered commerce use cases and turn them into working solutions.
  • Build working prototypes and contribute to production-ready solutions, using AI tools to accelerate delivery.
  • Develop AI-enabled applications and integrations using Python, LLM APIs and modern application development patterns.
  • Apply practical generative AI concepts such as RAG, embeddings, vector search, prompt orchestration and tool/function calling.
  • Connect AI capabilities with APIs, structured and unstructured data, content systems and commerce platforms to create genuinely joined‑up customer experiences.
  • Architect and implement data solutions that power AI at scale — designing pipelines and databases across SQL and NoSQL technologies to handle the volume and complexity of enterprise commerce data.
  • Explain technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, helping clients understand how AI solutions work and what trade-offs are involved.
  • Work within agile delivery teams, bringing rigour to solution design, engineering best practices and DevSecOps across the full delivery lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a client-facing technical role, translating business needs into practical technical solutions.
  • Hands‑on Python development experience, with the ability to build working applications, prototypes or service integrations.
  • Practical experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, Vertex AI or similar.
  • Good working understanding of core generative AI patterns including RAG, embeddings, vector databases and LLM orchestration.
  • Comfortable contributing to production delivery, including version control, code reviews, testing, documentation and established engineering practices.

Set Yourself Apart

  • Experience in commerce, retail, consumer goods or customer experience environments.
  • Familiarity with commerce platforms, content platforms, CRM, product information or order management systems.
  • Familiarity with agentic AI patterns, workflow orchestration or frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar.
  • Hands‑on experience with vector databases or search platforms.
  • A background that blends engineering with business, design, creative or product thinking.

What We'll Give You

  • A thriving career with the chance to learn from passionate, talented colleagues and mentors.
  • Exciting and varied client work with as much opportunity as you can handle.
  • A hugely sociable team to get to know.
  • Our Total Rewards consist of a competitive basic salary, annual performance bonus, opportunities to acquire equity and a wide range of health and wellbeing benefits.
  • These include perks such as:
    • Up to 30 days of leave to spend each year plus 3 extra volunteering days per year for charitable work of choice.
    • Family‑friendly and flexible working policies.
    • A range of generous parental leave offerings.
    • Attractive pension plan with financial well‑being support and resources.
    • Private healthcare insurance plan and mental well‑being support.
    • Employee assistance programme, career development and counselling.

Please note that with all of our roles, you should expect some in‑person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.

Application Deadline: Ongoing. Accenture reserves the right to close the role, at any time.
