Accenture is a leading global professional services company, providing a broad range of services in strategy and consulting, interactive, technology and operations, with digital capabilities across all of these services. With our thought leadership and culture of innovation, we apply industry expertise, diverse skill sets and next-generation technology to each business challenge.
As a team: Insurance Architecture is the dedicated digital architecture and technology team within Accenture’s UK Insurance & Financial Services Industry and Enterprise practice. We are a small, high-impact team of senior architects and technologists who shape and assure complex digital change for some of the UK’s leading insurers, life offices, wealth managers and platform providers, advising CIOs, CTOs and Chief Architects on major investment plans and technology and platform decisions. Our work spans General Insurance, Life, Pensions & Investments, London Markets, Capital Markets and the wider Financial Services market, supporting clients in areas such as journey to cloud, digital transformation in underwriting and claims, applications of AI and GenAI, and large-scale platform re-platforming.
Our operating model is built around six functional pillars – Solution Architecture; Enterprise Architecture & System Design; ML, AI & GenAI; Data Architecture; Cyber Security; and Cloud & Infrastructure. Each team member develops deep expertise in one or more pillars, leading upskilling for colleagues so that we can flex quickly onto client engagements with both depth and resilience.
In our team you will learn how to:
- Invent and provide solutions to real-world problems across our Insurance and Financial Services clients, leveraging the latest technologies including GenAI and agentic AI.
- Act as the communication bridge between business and technology teams, helping ensure that solutions are aligned to true business needs.
- Build deep client relationships and bring together the wider Accenture business – including Industry and Enterprise, Technology, Song, Operations – to create differentiated offerings and enable the best outcomes for our clients.
- Deliver tangible, transformational change for clients and develop points of view that shape the insurance and financial services industries.
As a Solution/Technical Architect within Insurance Architecture, you will:
- Contribute across all six of our functional pillars on client engagements – with a particular focus on Applications, Integration and Data as well as AI, Cloud and Cyber Security – and grow toward becoming a future pillar specialist.
- Help define and deliver enterprise and solution architecture artefacts (current-state, target-state, roadmaps and transition states, integration patterns, capability maps) for clients across Insurance and Financial Services.
- Become familiar with and help to enhance our industry specific reference architecture frameworks, which form a core part of our proposition to our clients.
- Shape and deliver discrete, high-quality outputs on engagements – from data integration designs and automation workflows, through to cloud strategy artefacts and proof-of-concept builds.
- Build credibility with client stakeholders through clear, well-structured analysis and presentation, and contribute to thought leadership through blogs, brown-bags and skunkworks projects.
- Bring your own perspective to growing and diversifying the Insurance Architecture team, mentoring more junior colleagues and helping us continuously raise the bar.
We are looking for candidates with experience and skills such as:
- 5+ years of experience in technology roles – ideally with exposure to Financial Services, Insurance or another regulated industry – covering some combination of data, application, cloud, integration and security.
- Working knowledge of data architecture concepts – including data modelling, integration, governance, visualisation and migration – and tools such as Databricks, Snowflake or equivalent.
- An appreciation of how technology can solve complex business problems, and comfortable operating at the intersection of business and technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas visually and adjust the level of detail for different audiences.
- Familiarity with at least one major industry platform (e.g. FNZ, SS&C, Pershing, Guidewire, Sapiens, Duck Creek, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics) is highly desirable.
- A genuine desire to improve outcomes for clients and consumers, and willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.
Set yourself apart:
- Passion and enthusiasm for innovating in the insurance and financial services industries, especially through automation, AI/GenAI and modern data platforms.
- Curiosity about the wider Insurance Architecture pillars – Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture & System Design, Cyber Security – and a desire to develop depth in one or more.
- Experience of how AI/GenAI can be used within architecture and the wider change process to improve delivery quality and efficiency, as well as where it could fit within our clients’ propositions.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders across business, technology and delivery teams, suppliers and clients, explaining the business rationale for architectural and technology choices as well as the delivery impacts.
- A distinctive emerging point of view that you can bring to internal forums and external events.
What’s In It For You: At Accenture, in addition to a competitive basic salary, you will also have an extensive benefits package which includes 30 days’ vacation per year, private medical insurance and 3 extra days’ leave per year for charitable work of your choice.
