Here at Accent, we are well-established, highly respected HVAC specialists, who provide high quality designs, installations, servicing and general maintenance of air conditioning and related systems. We are based in Shepperton, Surrey, with easy access to London, Heathrow Airport, and the wider southeast, alongside a separate regional office in Warmley. We have a new, exciting opportunity for a dedicated design engineer to join our rapidly growing team on a permanent, full time basis. This role will be working within our Contracts/Design department, helping design and apply a range of HVAC system solutions including ventilation, heating, cooling and air conditioning systems.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop detailed HVAC designs based on project requirements and specifications
- Perform engineering calculations including heat loads, airflow, humidity, system sizing, thermal comfort and building fabric performance
- Design and apply a range of HVAC system solutions including ventilation, heating, cooling and air conditioning systems
- Select and size HVAC systems and associated plant (including centralised and decentralised solutions such as AHUs, chillers, heat pumps, VRF/VRV systems, pumps and associated equipment)
- Produce design documentation, technical submittal documents, specifications, technical and validation reports
- Coordinate with CAD/BIM teams to produce fully integrated and coordinated designs
- Liaise with architects, structural engineers and other stakeholders
- Participate in design reviews and respond to client and stakeholder feedback
- Review technical submittals and drawings for compliance and accuracy
- Contribute to project validation reports and technical summaries
- Conduct site surveys and inspections to inform and validate design solutions
- Resolve technical issues during design and construction phases
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding lead times and technical compliance
Criteria
- Strong understanding of HVAC and building services systems
- Experience with HVAC design and analysis software and BIM tools
- Knowledge of UK standards, regulations and design guides
- Ability to perform detailed engineering calculations
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Proficient in 2D AutoCAD and 3D Revit MEP is essential.
- An associate degree in architectural drafting, mechanical engineering technology, or relevant industry experience
