A place to make a difference. This is a hybrid role with a national remit and travel to Accent schemes and offices. Youll be contracted to your nearest Accent office (Bradford/Burnley/Camberley/Peterborough/Stockton). Salary: Circa £90k per annum Permanent, 35 hours per week.

About the Role: As our Assistant Director of Compliance and Building Safety, youll provide strategic and operational leadership across compliance, building safety, and managing agent services. Youll ensure we meet and exceed our regulatory obligations while delivering excellent, customer-focused safety services. From leading compliance programmes to shaping our Building a Safer Future approach, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring every customer feels safe in their home.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Leading our approach to asset compliance and building safety, covering gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, legionella, lifts, and more.
- Ensuring 100% compliance through robust systems, data (the golden thread), and performance monitoring.
- Driving a zero-tolerance culture for health and safety risks.
- Overseeing procurement and contract management, ensuring strong performance and value for money.
- Acting as a key contact with the Building Safety Regulator.
- Developing KPIs and early warning indicators to manage and improve performance.
- Leading high-performing teams and supply chains, embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Managing budgets and ensuring efficient, cost-effective delivery.
- Supporting delivery of our Asset Management Strategy and long-term investment plans.

About you: CIH Level 5 (or equivalent with CIH top-ups), or willingness to work towards. Extensive experience in construction or a related field, with a strong track record of managing compliance and safety across large property portfolios. Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop high-performing teams. Strong leadership and motivational skills. In-depth knowledge of compliance and health & safety regulations. Demonstrated experience managing substantial budgets and delivering value through effective procurement. Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and build effective stakeholder relationships. Strong IT literacy, including MS Office and asset management systems. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, flexibility to work outside normal hours where required, including occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.

You'll be asked to complete a Congruity Questionnaire in advance. Planned date: 7th or 11th August at our Bradford office or 12th or 13th August at our Peterborough office.
