Salary: £60,074 per annum

12 month Fixed Term Contract, 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am-5pm with flexibility to work out of hours.

About the role

As a Development Manager, you’ll lead schemes from inception to completion, hitting the ground running and managing a high volume of detailed handovers. You’ll take properties from developers with confidence, understanding the required documentation, terminology, contracts and processes, including Section 38. With a strong eye for detail, you’ll make informed decisions on defects, ensuring properties meet required standards. You’ll manage schemes nationally including 2 in Bradford, working with a wide range of stakeholders, including those who can be challenging at times. Building strong relationships and keeping contractors engaged will be key, as will your ability to find practical solutions to complex issues.

Salary

The spot salary for the Development Manager post is £60,074 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. If you’re still developing some of the skills or experience, you can start at a salary 5% or 10% below the spot rate, with clear support and progression opportunities to reach the full amount.

About you

  • Proven experience managing residential development projects from inception to completion within the Affordable Housing sector.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing the handover of completed schemes.
  • Strong working knowledge of key housing contracts (e.g., JCT, Development Agreements, land acquisition arrangements).
  • Experience managing and coordinating external consultants.
  • Strong financial management skills, with the ability to ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including working with external partners, communities, and local authorities, with the confidence to professionally represent the organisation.
