Location: Hybrid, occasional travel to Accent offices (Bradford/Peterborough). Permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm.
Salary: £38,194 per annum (full speed if all conditions met; 5‑10% below for developing skills, with growth support).
About the Role: As a Service Charge Accountant you will ensure service charge costs are accurate, transparent, and fully compliant with regulations and occupancy agreements. You will deliver sharp forecasting, clear budgeting and reliable reporting, contributing directly to financial strength and customers’ trust.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare auditable service charge accounts.
- Forecast, budget and report service charge costs.
- Ensure compliance with service charge legislation and occupancy agreements.
- Provide insight and analysis to support the team.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of service charge legislation.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Proven management accounting experience.
- Hands‑on experience preparing auditable service charge accounts.
- Solid knowledge of different housing tenure types.
- A recognised finance qualification (or working towards one).
Desirable:
- Social Housing experience.
- Understanding of different scheme structures.
- Ability to read and interpret tenancy agreements/leases.
