We are on a bold transformation journey – re-thinking how we work, how we lead and how we deliver for our customers. Our purpose is simple but powerful: to provide families with affordable, sustainable and safe homes and to do that, we know our culture, capability and ways of working matter just as much as our systems and processes. This is a place where change isn’t done to people, it’s shaped with them. We are building a thriving, inclusive workplace where ideas are welcomed, curiosity is encouraged and people feel supported to do their best work. If you are excited by change, motivated by impact and passionate about people, there’s never been a better time to join us. Help shape a purpose‐driven organisation and make a real difference for customers and communities.
As a Change Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering Accent’s transformation agenda, focusing as much on people, behaviours and adoption as on plans and milestones. Reporting to the Director of Organisational Development & Culture, and working closely with the Business Transformation team, you will lead the change approach for complex, cross-functional initiatives. You will help colleagues understand why change matters, feel confident in what it means for them, and be supported to embed new ways of working. This isn’t a role where success is measured by delivery alone. It’s about building trust, creating momentum and ensuring change genuinely lands and sticks.
Responsibilities
- Lead and shape change approaches across major transformation programmes to build readiness, drive adoption and embed new ways of working.
- Work across the full change journey from organisation‐wide shifts to individual behaviour change.
- Bring people with you – listening, engaging and adapting where needed.
- Create the conditions for collaboration, learning and confidence.
- Act as a coach and critical friend to colleagues across the organisation.
- Communicate with clarity and empathy, even when navigating ambiguity.
- Ultimately, you will help turn ambition into reality - in a way that feels human, credible and sustainable.
What you will bring / Qualifications
- Experience delivering major organisational change programmes - including change that impacts ways of working, where you have managed the people and behavioural aspects, not just technical delivery.
- A strong understanding of the full change lifecycle - from concept through to embed.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills – you will be skilled at building relationships, positively challenging senior leaders and guiding individuals through change with confidence and credibility.
- Experience supporting digital or process change, with a focus on adoption and behaviour change.
- The ability to translate complex ideas into clear, meaningful messages for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience managing resistance and navigating ambiguity - able to anticipate, address and overcome resistance to change while providing clarity and stability in uncertain or evolving situations.
- Analytical and problem‐solving skills - able to use insight, data and feedback to shape actions, inform decisions and track adoption and outcome.
- Experience in the housing sector is helpful, but not essential; what matters most is the ability to connect, influence and make change feel possible.
- With experience of managing large-scale, cross-functional projects, ideally within the housing sector, you will have expertise in project management methodologies.
- You should also have experience in managing the full project lifecycle within digital implementation and business process improvement projects.
- You can implement change management, including delivering training and driving adoption, with an ability to present complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
