About the Role

The school kitchen in South East London, SE26 is seeking an exceptional Kitchen Porter. The position is 35 hours per week, term‑time only, Monday‑Friday from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm with a 30‑minute unpaid break. Hourly rate is £14.80.

Responsibilities

  • Have good communication skills at all levels.
  • Perform general kitchen duties.
  • Operate a mechanical dishwasher and sinks to wash up.
  • Put away deliveries with good stock practice.
  • Carry out pot washing and dish cleaning.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area.
  • Undertake all basic training and work effectively with colleagues as part of a team.
  • Speak to each customer and team member in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required.
