Accelerant is looking for a Lead UX Researcher to join our Product Design team. We’ve been conducting user research to inform design and product decisions, but so far that work has been led entirely by product designers and product managers. We’re now looking for a dedicated researcher to take this work further – someone who can bring more depth and structure to our approach, and who will help build a practice that scales.

We’re looking for someone who brings a pragmatic, results-driven approach to research – someone who knows how to focus on the questions that matter, deliver insights that influence real decisions, and adapt methods to the needs of the moment. You’ll collaborate closely with product designers and product managers to plan and conduct research across discovery and delivery, and help shape how research is embedded into our ways of working.

What you’ll do

  • Practice Building & Operations
    • Define a strategic approach to research that supports both short-term product decisions and longer-term understanding.
    • Establish scalable research practices, methods and standards, including maintaining research tools.
    • Centralize research insights being collected across teams to improve visibility and reuse.
    • Leverage AI-based tools to improve research speed, depth, and consistency across the product development cycle.
    • Build relationships with internal teams to tap into existing knowledge and channels.
  • Measurement & Insights
    • Define and track UX health metrics in collaboration with design and product leadership.
    • Leverage tools like Pendo to identify behavioral patterns, guide research focus, and track experience over time.
  • Research Execution & Collaboration
    • Partner closely with product designers and product managers in planning and executing research across the product development cycle.
    • Lead exploratory research to uncover insights in ambiguous or early-stage problem spaces.
    • Design and lead research studies that inform product direction, feature prioritization, and experience improvements.
    • Identify and deliver quick-turn research to support near-term decisions, especially around product improvements and prioritization.
    • Communicate findings and trends clearly to influence decisions and guide ongoing improvements.
    • Help set priorities for research across teams to ensure we’re focusing on the most meaningful questions.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience leading UX research within a B2B SaaS product environment, working closely with product teams in a fast-moving environment.
  • Comfortable building a practice in a team that hasn’t yet centralized research.
  • Clear, direct communicator who can synthesize findings for different audiences.
  • Familiarity with defining, interpreting, and reporting UX metrics for product teams and executive leadership (e.g. NPS, engagement, retention, satisfaction scores, behavioral signals).
  • Experience working with product analytics tools like Pendo to inform and supplement qualitative research.
  • Curious and self-driven in staying current with research tools, thinking, and approaches.
  • 7+ years of experience in UX research or related roles, with a focus on digital product development environments.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with insurance, underwriting, or marketplace platforms.
