This organisation designs, manufactures and supplies advanced technology solutions used in some of the most demanding operating environments in the world, from extreme natural conditions to specialist defence and industrial settings. Its technology is relied on to perform reliably, consistently and safely around the clock across a range of critical applications. It's now looking for a Electronics Design Engineer to support the development of advanced positioning and automation systems used across defence, government and commercial sectors.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this role combines electronic and mechanical engineering expertise, supporting projects from concept through to production, and contributing to the design, testing, validation and delivery of bespoke engineering solutions built to operate in demanding real-world environments. This is a full-time, site-based role, with relocation support available for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new electromechanical systems and bespoke customer solutions
  • Support motor sizing, control system selection and related engineering activities
  • Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
  • Support software and GUI development for product control systems
  • Undertake prototype assembly, testing and validation activities
  • Participate in design reviews, engineering changes and continuous improvement activities
  • Support production testing, reliability activities and quality compliance
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, production and commercial teams
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and internal quality standards

Experience

  • Previous experience in electromechanical design, mechatronics, robotics or automation systems
  • Experience within defence, military or harsh environment applications
  • Exposure to automation, motion control or control systems

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience
  • Eligibility for SC security clearance (role subject to successful completion of SC clearance prior to commencement)
