I'm currently supporting a specialist aerospace and airborne operations organisation in the search for a Mission Systems Engineer to join their growing engineering team.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of airborne surveillance, intelligence gathering and mission system integration. You'll play a key role in ensuring advanced aircraft mission systems remain operational, reliable and ready for deployment.
This role would particularly suit an Avionics Engineer with strong IT, systems integration or networking experience, especially individuals from military aviation, ISR, special mission aircraft, defence aerospace or complex engineering environments.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the maintenance, integration, modification and support of sophisticated mission systems including:
- Radar systems
- Satellite communications
- Mission computers
- Aircraft networks
- Ground-based test environments
Working alongside software specialists and aircraft engineers, you will support both existing platforms and the development of future mission capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support aircraft mission systems.
- Configure and integrate mission computers and associated software.
- Carry out systems testing, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
- Support network infrastructure, upgrades and security updates.
- Perform systems integration and validation activities.
- Assist with the design and installation of new mission system capabilities.
- Support operational deployments when required.
- Work closely with avionics, software and airworthiness engineering teams.
What We're Looking For
- Avionics, Aerospace, Electronic Engineering or similar background.
- Experience with complex mission, avionics or defence systems.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of computer systems, networking and system integration.
- Experience using electronic test equipment.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance.
Highly Desirable
- Military aviation experience.
- Systems Integration Lab (SIL) experience.
- Linux or Windows administration skills.
- Mission system installation and modification experience.
