We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead and deliver large-scale transformation programmes that will shape the future of our higher education client. About the role
As Programme Manager, you’ll play a central role in the development and implementation of transformational programmes designed to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and long-term sustainability. You’ll oversee programme delivery, manage interdependent projects, and work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
This role requires exceptional leadership, strong programme management expertise, and the ability to deliver business change in complex environments.
Key responsibilities
- Lead programme delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with strategic priorities.
- Build and lead high-performing, collaborative teams, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
- Apply recognised programme and change management methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders, partners, and suppliers, building trust and credibility.
- Oversee programme governance, risk management, and assurance to secure delivery confidence.
- Deliver benefits realisation, ensuring long-term impact is measurable and sustained.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to embed organisational capability for change.
About you
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Extensive experience of leading large-scale change and transformation programmes in a complex organisation.
- Strong expertise in programme planning, governance, risk, and benefits management.
- Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and build trust at all levels.
- Experience in developing business cases and presenting analysis to senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and support teams through change.
- Knowledge of recognised programme management methodologies (e.g. MSP) – qualification desirable.
- Commercial awareness and strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
