We’re hiring a Platform Engineer to join a growing Technology & Innovation team within a well-established corporate finance business. This role is primarily focused on cloud infrastructure, deployment, and platform reliability, supporting the build-out of a greenfield analytics and digital platform. You’ll work closely with data engineers and technical leadership to ensure systems are secure, scalable and production-ready. This is a hands-on engineering position suited to someone who enjoys improving environments, automating processes and strengthening cloud foundations.
The Role
You will take ownership of platform and deployment capabilities that underpin data and analytics systems, while maintaining exposure to data workflows and backend services.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP welcome)
- Support containerised deployments using Docker (Kubernetes exposure beneficial)
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated release processes
- Improve observability, monitoring and production reliability
- Strengthen security, access controls and cloud governance practices
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure scalable and efficient environments
- Support cost optimisation and performance tuning initiatives
Practical experience with a cloud platform (Azure preferred)
- Containerisation experience (Docker)
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience working in production environments
- Strong scripting or backend skills (Python preferred)
- Good understanding of databases and data storage concepts
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly within a team
Desirable / Exposure to Data Engineering
- Experience supporting ETL/ELT pipelines
- Familiarity with data platforms
- Exposure to analytics or reporting environments
- Interest in applied AI/ML tooling
