We are looking for an exceptional Chief Engineer to lead high-complexity mechanical engineering projects across transmission, driveline and actuation systems, driving technical excellence, client relationships, and the development of those around you.

  • Deliver technical work packages and projects to margin, being accountable to the operations board for outcomes.
  • Lead multi-person and cross-functional projects through their full development cycle.
  • Propose innovative R&D projects to the CTO and develop new market-leading solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key accounts to build and sustain revenue streams.
  • Play an active role in the quality system, continuously improving technical and procedural capabilities.
  • Mentor and develop others in drawing standards, technical reporting and professional growth.
  • Manage complex proposals and quotes, defining project strategy while mitigating technical and commercial risk.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience developing transmission systems across at least two sectors: automotive, aerospace, off-highway, commercial vehicle, defence, clean energy and/or marine.
  • High competency in design and CAE analysis of rotating systems.
  • Strong track record of system integration projects delivered to scope and quality.
  • A history of solving complex problems through new techniques, and coaching others to do the same.
  • Experience managing large, multi-disciplinary projects through their complete development lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of key drivetrain software, SMT MASTA, Romax, Creo, UGNX, CATIA, Amesim, Recurdyn, MATLAB, Altair and/or Ansys.
  • Commercial acumen with experience in generating and managing opportunities to successful conclusion.
