Are you an experienced HR professional with strong employment law knowledge and a passion for delivering high-quality advisory support? We’re looking for a confident and commercially aware Senior HR Advisor to join our HR Operations team. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll work autonomously, provide expert advice across complex employee relations matters, and play a key role in supporting organisational performance and change.

About the Role

Reporting to the HR Services Manager, you will deliver a professional, high-quality HR advisory service across a wide range of operational and strategic matters. You’ll use your professional judgement to ensure best practice employment standards are upheld, while contributing to policy development, change programmes, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands‑on role requiring credibility, resilience and the ability to operate confidently in formal and high‑pressure environments.

  • Provide expert advice on employment law, pay and terms & conditions
  • Lead on complex casework including discipline, grievance, performance, redundancy and absence
  • Act as investigating officer, including report writing and recommendations
  • Advise and support managers in formal meetings and hearings
  • Lead on HR policy development, ensuring alignment with legislative changes and best practice
  • Support transformational change programmes and consultation processes
  • Provide specialist advice on TUPE and organisational change
  • Deliver HR training programmes and workshops
  • Support recruitment and selection processes, including senior appointments
  • Contribute to job evaluation processes and equal pay matters
  • Analyse and interpret HR data and management information
  • Build strong working relationships across teams and functions

Qualifications and Experience

  • Fully CIPD qualified or equivalent experience and evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Significant HR advisory experience, including complex employee relations
  • Strong and current knowledge of employment law
  • Confidence operating autonomously and using professional judgement
  • Experience advising in formal meetings and investigations
  • Strong communication, influencing and coaching skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
  • A proactive, commercially minded and solution-focused approach
