We are partnered with a global Fintech business that is focused on expanding its UK team, with offices in America and the Manchester area. As the company undergoes a significant growth phase, we are seeking a Head of Platform Engineering who will play a pivotal role in designing, managing, and scaling our SaaS service cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Evaluate and integrate appropriate cloud services and technologies.
- Implement best practices for cloud security, monitoring, and cost management.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize applications for the cloud environment.
- Stay updated on cloud & DevOps trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Mentor and lead a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and scaling cloud infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Linux (preferably Redhat, but other distributions are acceptable).
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of network engineering is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
