About the Role
Our client, a dynamic Microsoft Partner, is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect with deep expertise in Databricks. This is a strategic role focused on designing, leading, and delivering modern data solutions for enterprise clients across various sectors. You will work closely with stakeholders to define architecture, modernise data platforms, and guide delivery teams through complex implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and lead the architecture of modern data solutions using Databricks.
- Collaborate with clients to understand business goals and translate them into scalable technical architectures.
- Provide hands-on guidance and technical leadership throughout project lifecycles.
- Collaborate with the pre-sales team to shape client solutions, contribute to technical discovery sessions, and articulate architectural approaches.
- Support proposal development by providing technical input, solution design narratives, and estimations for data platform engagements.
- Define best practices around data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data platform scalability.
- Champion cloud-native principles and modern data stack adoption.
- Contribute to internal capability building and thought leadership within the consultancy.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a data architecture role.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Databricks (both engineering and SQL-focused workloads).
- Strong background in designing and building end-to-end data pipelines.
- Proficient in Python and/or Scala; solid understanding of SQL and distributed computing principles.
- Experience with Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture, and data governance frameworks.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
- Experience in Azure Data Services is desirable (e.g. Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, Fabric).
