We're working with a fast-growing defence and autonomous systems company based in West Wales, developing cutting-edge UAV and autonomous platform technology. As they scale their engineering capability, they're looking for an Electrical Integration Engineer to step into a senior technical leadership position within the team. This is a rare opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of growth — where your work will have real visibility and genuine impact on the platforms being built.

The Role

  • You'll be the technical authority for electrical integration across UAV and autonomous systems programmes, leading the way on how electrical and electronic subsystems come together within a cohesive, deployable platform.
  • Working closely with mechanical, systems, and software engineering colleagues, you'll own the electrical integration process from design intent through to physical delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading electrical integration activities across UAV and autonomous platform programmes.
  • Managing electrical interfaces between subsystems — power distribution, signal routing, harness architecture, and connector strategy.
  • Driving integration planning, defining interface control documentation, and resolving cross-discipline clashes early.
  • Acting as a technical point of contact for electrical integration challenges within a growing engineering team.
  • Supporting testing, build, and verification activities to ensure platforms meet programme requirements.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to maintain electrical integration integrity throughout the development lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in electrical systems integration, ideally within defence, aerospace, or autonomous platforms.
  • Strong understanding of how electrical, mechanical, and software subsystems interact at a platform level.
  • Experience managing electrical interfaces, harness design, and contributing to or owning interface control documentation.
  • Comfortable operating in a hands‑on, fast‑paced engineering environment.
  • A natural technical leader — someone who can bring structure and clarity to complex integration challenges.
  • Eligibility for SC security clearance (British nationality or long‑term UK residency required).

Nice to Have

  • Background in UAV, drone, or autonomous ground/air vehicle programmes.
  • Familiarity with MoD or defence programme environments.
  • Experience with power management, EMC considerations, or avionics integration.
  • Experience supporting physical build, rig, or flight test activities.

What's on Offer

  • Salary up to £75,000 depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working with a base in West Wales.
  • A senior, influential role in a team that's growing fast.
  • The chance to work on genuinely complex, meaningful autonomous systems technology.

If this sounds like the right next step, drop me a message or apply directly. Happy to share more about the business and the programme before you commit to anything.
