Overview

We’re working with a well-established software house based in Cardiff that delivers bespoke digital solutions to a range of clients, including public sector organisations. They have a strong project pipeline and are looking for an experienced Contract Business Analyst to support delivery on a number of government-facing projects. This is a hybrid role, so you’ll need to be within a commutable distance of Cardiff and able to be onsite 2–3 days per week.

The Role

You'll act as the bridge between stakeholders and delivery teams, helping shape digital services that meet user needs and business goals. From requirements gathering to supporting testing, you'll have end-to-end involvement and the chance to influence key outcomes on meaningful projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather and document requirements
  • Convert business needs into clear and actionable functional specs
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews and discovery sessions
  • Produce process maps, user stories, use cases and acceptance criteria
  • Identify areas for process improvement and support business change
  • Work closely with project managers and development teams to align delivery
  • Support UAT and QA by reviewing test cases and ensuring traceability

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on software or digital projects
  • Experience working on public sector programmes or with government clients
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Confident working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence or equivalent
  • Analytical mindset and ability to produce clear, concise documentation

Desirable

  • Exposure to GDS (Government Digital Service) standards and processes
  • Experience supporting discovery, alpha and beta phases
  • Familiarity with UX/UI teams or wireframing tools
