We're supporting a growing business seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT function, taking ownership of complex technical issues, infrastructure improvement initiatives, and operational resilience across a multi-site environment.

The Role
You'll act as a senior technical escalation point within the IT team, supporting critical infrastructure and business systems while helping drive modernisation, standardisation, and security best practices across the organisation. The position will suit someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving system performance, and working collaboratively across infrastructure, cloud, and support teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a 3rd line escalation point for complex infrastructure and systems issues
- Administer and support cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments
- Manage and optimise Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services
- Support Windows Server and VMware environments
- Monitor infrastructure performance, security alerts, and system availability
- Lead root cause analysis and contribute to long-term service improvements
- Support infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and transformation initiatives
- Maintain technical documentation, configurations, and operational procedures
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to wider IT support teams
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a senior Infrastructure Engineer or 3rd Line Support role
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong knowledge of:
- Microsoft Azure & Microsoft 365
- Windows Server environments
- VMware
- Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP and VPNs
- Hybrid identity environments
- Desirable Experience
- ITIL Foundation certification
- PowerShell or automation scripting experience
- Experience supporting ERP systems
- SharePoint administration experience
- SQL Server exposure
