Accedo Group Limited is a growing supported living provider. We are hiring a part-time Financial Controller to own the finance function, tighten controls, and give leadership the insight needed to scale safely in a regulated care environment.

Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week

Location: Cheshunt, Hertfordshire - Head Office

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 pro-rata

Sector: Social Care / Supported Living

Reporting to: Chairman

Team: Line management of Accounts Manager

You will be trusted to:

  • Run monthly management accounts with sharp commentary
  • Strengthen financial controls, governance and compliance
  • Improve reporting, packs, KPIs and cashflow visibility
  • Partner with leadership on decisions, growth, pricing and service performance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management Accounts & Insight: Produce monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis) and deliver clear, decision-useful commentary: risks, trends, opportunities. Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning. Build reporting packs and KPIs appropriate to supported living / social care.
  • Control, Compliance & Year-End: Own the finance control environment: income, expenditure, payroll, cash. Improve processes and systems to embed best-practice (right sized for an SME). Lead year-end preparation and manage external accountants/auditors. Ensure statutory compliance: payroll, HMRC submissions.
  • Team Leadership: Line manage and develop the Accounts Manager. Ensure transactional processes land accurately and on time (bank recs, ledgers, payroll support).
  • Business Partnering: Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO/Chair and management team. Input into service development, pricing, contract performance and investment decisions.

Who this suits:

You will likely be ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or strongly Qualified by Experience. Strong on management accounts, controls, and getting things done. Comfortable leading a small team and working independently. Confident explaining finance to non-finance colleagues.

Nice to have (not required): social care / supported living / regulated services experience, understanding of authority funding models.
