We\’re currently looking for a Learning Technologist on a full time, fixed-term basis until March 2026. This position is within the Innovation in Learning and Assessment programme at ACCA. We are flexible on the location of this role and would welcome applications from any global location.

The Learning Technologist will take an active role in the ongoing build delivery and support of ACCA student focused courses. They will be expected to act as the main point of contact and resolution for technology related queries and issues from within the team and also liaise with the wider organisation.

The role holder will also be responsible for working with stakeholders to identify areas of innovation and help to develop the technology roadmap for our student learning provision.

The Job

Reporting to the Digital Learning Manager, on a day-to-day basis, you\’ll be involved in the following:

  • Technology ownership of ACCA student learning programmes in our \”ACCA Learning\” platform (LMS). This includes building new courses, editing existing ones, adding relevant course content such as video, documents, external links, etc.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting for issues that arise for all technology products within the learning portfolio, working with our suppliers to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Providing subject matter expertise on the usage of tools and technologies employed for Learning and Assessment practice
  • Providing functional overviews and training as required to colleagues on the use of our various educational technology applications and tools to internal stakeholders
  • Carrying out functional and acceptance testing as part of any product upgrades or patching
  • Offering technical support to internal teams, and stakeholders (students/tutors) to troubleshoot issues.
  • Working with ACCA colleagues and external parties to identify areas of innovation and help to develop the technology roadmap
  • Promoting and advise on best practices in the use of technology in education, ensuring accessibility and usability
  • Implementing new tools, processes and solutions to improve our offerings – this could be as part of a project team or working individually.

The Person

We\’re looking for someone who has a:

  • Technical background with previous experience in working with SCORM and Evolve (or similar authoring programme). Experience with the following will be advantageous – XML, LTI, IMS Open Badges Standard and JSON
  • Solid experience of working with Educational Technology solutions, both from a content and administration perspective
  • Experience in working with at least one of the following: Learning Management Systems, Assessment Solutions, Content Management Systems, Open Badging system
  • Understanding of Identity Access Management technologies, including Open Connect (OIDC) and SAML
  • Experience of working with cloud enabled technologies, ideally hosted in AWS or MS Azure cloud would be beneficial
  • Good understanding of quality standards and techniques, including version control and release management
  • Understanding of delivering products using mobile technologies
  • It would be desirable to have some experience of e-Commerce solutions, such as Shopify
  • Good documentation skills to ensure a full set of configuration and operational procedures exists and are maintained at all times
  • Able to work with minimal supervision – strong multi-tasking and prioritisation skills to ensure service levels are met
  • Good communicator that\’s able to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some limited support needs on weekends
  • We are looking for an individual who is adaptable and can work well with multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
