Job Overview
We are looking for a PQ Approvals Officer to join ACCA on a full‑time fixed‑term contract until June 2026. The role is hybrid, based primarily at our Glasgow office and reporting to the Approvals Team Manager within the Accreditation team.
The Accreditation team enhances the value and status of ACCA\’s qualifications by focusing on the quality assurance of learning providers, employers and higher educational institutions.
Responsibilities
- Review and process accreditation applications from institutions, learning partners, employers and professional bodies while ensuring compliance with quality assurance regulations.
- Act in accordance with recommendations from ACCA regulators, ensuring regulatory compliance in accreditation.
- Contribute to internal and external meetings to monitor accreditation policies and identify training needs, creating and delivering training programmes and resource materials as required.
- Provide advice on ACCA’s accreditation policy to internal and external stakeholders including national offices, Student Support, students and learning providers.
- Participate in the continuing development, testing and implementation of the department’s IT systems.
- Support the Approvals Team Manager with the implementation of systems and procedures supporting efficient operation of ACCA’s accreditation policies.
- Undertake such other duties as may arise from time to time.
Qualifications
- Relevant work experience in a customer‑facing or service environment, preferably with an education/membership organisation.
- Excellent IT skills with a working knowledge of Word, Excel and database manipulation.
- Highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic, with ability to work on own initiative and flexibly as part of a wider team.
- Experience of applying appropriate judgement in situations within the remit of the role.
- Receptive to working in a changing environment and willing to take on cross‑team responsibilities as required.
- Excellent organisation skills and a methodical approach to work.
- Able to draft letters and reports to a high standard.
- Able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels advising senior management and senior individuals in business as well as students and trainees.
- Work calmly under pressure, meet tight deadlines and deal with competing priorities.
- Awareness of the changing environment of accountancy training and education.
