We’re currently looking for an Operations Officer to work on a full-time, 6-month fixed term contract basis. This position sits within the AML & Operations department within Strategy & Governance. We operate a hybrid working approach where you can work from home and from our Glasgow office. The working hours for this role are 35 hours per week (to be worked within core hours of 9 am - 5 pm, Monday to Friday).

The Operations team is responsible for supporting business processes across Regulation and Conduct (Compliance, Authorisation and Anti-Money Laundering teams) to support our regulatory arrangements and our practitioner network. Reporting to the Operations Team Leader on a day-to-day basis, you’ll be required to carry out daily business operations to meet individual targets and team objectives. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Supporting phone and email contact from our network of practitioners and firms looking to obtain first-time practising and firm certificates, licenses and annual renewals.
  • Provide a first-point resolution service to our practitioners in a professional manner.
  • Undertake ad-hoc outbound call exercises to prompt practitioners to engage with payments, OPBAS levies and annual renewal actions.
  • Undertake AML thematic reviews for firms.
  • Contribute to team initiatives and the continuous improvement of existing processes and procedures.
  • Providing support for Compliance teams who undertake desktop-based monitoring reviews for practising firms in the UK and Ireland and approved employers holding PCD status.
  • Support Compliance work for the Global Assurance team responsible for Cyprus and Caribbean monitoring activities.
  • Create bundles for the visit cases the panel has selected for the Audit Monitoring Committee (AMC).
  • Support data reporting for KPIs & KPIs - DSK each month, AMC file selection reports, a summary of audit file grades and CPD/IES8 reports.

We're looking for someone:

  • Who has a good understanding of ACCA's regulatory arrangements for applying for practising and firm certificates.
  • Be agile to support other team activities across the Operations team including operational support for Compliance and AML teams.
  • Be an ambassador for ACCA and treat external customers with respect and maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Can provide a first-point resolution service to practitioners and firms.
  • Responds in a people friendly manner.
  • Work collectively as a team and can also work on their initiative.
  • Understands the key working relationships within ACCA that support our practitioner network.
  • Understand ACCA’s regulatory arrangements for licensing, monitoring, and regulatory action.
  • Have an organised and methodical approach to work and be able to prioritise tasks and work to strict deadlines.
