We're currently looking for an Exam Production Technician on a full time, 12 month fixed-term contract basis. This position sits within the ACCA Qualifications team. We are flexible on the working location as we operate a 'digital-first' approach.

The Job

  • Reporting to the Exam Production Manager on a day-to-day basis, you will be involved in the following:
  • Create and manage multiple production schedules for exam content for all future exam sessions adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Lead and manage external academic experts and finance professionals (examiners and reviewers etc) in working to the multiple production schedules.
  • Deliver training to external academic experts and finance professionals (examiners and reviewers etc) in the use of systems and the key considerations required when setting exams to ensure fit for purpose delivery of CBEs.
  • Being aware and complying with all ACCA and regulatory requirements relating to the production and delivery of exams.
  • Complete quality assurance checks on question submissions in relation to industry best practice and lead on house-style reviews in order to maintain the integrity of exam content.
  • Using and applying system code in order to construct and build exams and complete detailed checks of exam settings, functionality and house-style.
  • Complete final publishing validations by undertaking detailed checks of exam settings, functionality and house-style to ensure all students receive accurate, fully operational balanced exams.
  • Act in accordance with recommendations from ACCA regulators, ensuring that ACCA exams continue to meet regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and apply expert knowledge across a breadth of Exam Production software systems.
  • Co-ordinate the activities and performance of third party stakeholders (external examiners, system suppliers) to ensure they meet their contractual obligations and provide first line support in relation to payments, contracts, and production and system queries.
  • Contribute to the effective delivery of ACCA's objectives and strategies by representing Exams Production at project and operational ad-hoc meetings.

  • Ability to quickly understand technological systems and processes including how differing systems interact.
  • Have a high level of computer literacy with a working knowledge of Word, Excel and database manipulation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse factors contributing to system or production issues and the ability to generate, evaluate and recommend best solution.
  • Be able to work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines while dealing with competing priorities.
  • Be receptive to working in a changing environment with changing systems and processes.
  • Be highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic, with the ability to work on own initiative and flexibly as part of a wider team.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels advising senior management and senior individuals in business internally and externally.
  • Have relevant work experience in an administrative or exam production environment preferably within the Education sector or Professional body organisation.
