We are currently looking for an AI and Digital Regulation - Policy and Research Lead on a full time, permanent basis. This position sits within the Policy & Insights team. We are flexible on the location of this role. The Policy & Insights team is responsible for the delivery of high-quality research and thought leadership on key issues, as well as extending ACCA's influence in policy and regulatory environments. The work of the team positions ACCA as a global leader in the accountancy profession.
The Job
Reporting to the Global Head of Skills, Sectors & Technology, on a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:
- Leading ACCA's research on how AI and Digital Regulation is impacting the global accountancy profession and the role of accountants, auditors and finance professionals.
- Positioning ACCA as a leading global brand in its analysis and understanding of how changing AI and digital regulation is shaping the future of the accountancy profession.
- Identifying best practices in how organisations should be governing the implementation of all technologies, particularly AI, and how this impacts the role of accountants, auditors and finance professionals.
- Monitoring and responding to policy initiatives and developments in the AI and Digital regulatory environment at a global and regional level.
- Understanding the profile of competitors in the market from a thought leadership, research, and policy engagement perspective in this area.
- Acting as ACCA's lead internal and external representative / spokesperson for AI and Digital regulation research and policy activities, developing and managing relationships with key senior level policy, regulatory experts, and accountancy standard setting bodies as appropriate.
- Working closely with technology and wider subject matter experts within the Policy & Insights team to ensure ACCA takes to market a joined-up approach to its AI and Digital regulation research and policy work.
- Working across the Policy & Insights team and other key internal stakeholders such as ACCA's Brand and Marketing team to ensure maximum external stakeholder engagement and impact in ACCA's thought leadership and research in AI and Digital regulation.
The Person
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:
- An understanding of how the regulatory environment in different jurisdictions across the world is changing in relation to AI and Digital regulation.
- An existing network across the AI and Digital regulation landscape, particularly with regulatory and policy institutions.
- Significant AI and Digital policy and regulation experience with a strong understanding of the emerging issues.
- Demonstrable experience and confidence in external speaking with a recognised profile in the AI and Digital regulation space.
- Strong awareness of how changing AI and Digital regulation is likely to impact the role of accounting, auditing and finance professionals in the future.
- A clear understanding of the role accounting, auditing and finance professionals can increasingly play in governance approaches to AI and Digital technologies.
- A strong track record in delivering thought leadership, research and policy engagement activities.
- Proactive project management skills in delivering research activities.
- A global perspective - significant international experience and cultural awareness.
