Role Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive professional to lead the planning, production, and oversight of financial statements and related reporting for funds on behalf of BNY, with a primary focus on UK Investment Trusts. The role ensures high‑quality delivery within agreed service levels, regulatory standards, and accounting frameworks, while engaging effectively with stakeholders and supporting team performance. In addition to scheduled reporting cycles, the role will support ad‑hoc reporting and events specific to UK Investment Trusts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, organization, and end‑to‑end oversight of financial statement production and associated reporting for UK Investment Trusts, including Board materials, revenue forecasting, monthly fund reporting, and supporting ad‑hoc events.
- Manage and review financial statements, Board packs, and monthly reports, ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards and industry guidance (including SORPs relevant to UK Investment Trusts) and all internal/external deadlines.
- Coordinate and produce other reporting related to ad‑hoc events for UK Investment Trusts (e.g., corporate actions, capital reorganisations, prospectus updates, exceptional Board requests).
- Maintain team capability through targeted training, coaching, and regular performance reviews; contribute to retention initiatives and a high‑performance culture.
- Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders involved in team deliverables and fund audits, including audit firms, depositaries, administrators, and company secretaries supporting UK Investment Trusts.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in fund administration or with a Big‑4 accounting firm supporting UK Investment Trusts.
- Strong accounting knowledge covering relevant standards and regulations, including UK GAAP, AIC SORP, and investment fund structures, especially UK Investment Trusts.
- Knowledge of UK Investment Trust regulatory landscape, governance frameworks, and Board reporting expectations (preferable).
- Experience using financial reporting platforms such as Confluence Unity or DFIN Arc Reporting to prepare, review, and publish accurate financial reporting (preferable).
- Deadline‑driven with effective time management and ability to work under pressure.
- Professional accounting qualification advantageous, preferably ACA/ACCA.
