In the insurance audit team, we work with a wide range of businesses, from listed insurers (life and non-life) to the top international insurance brokers, Lloyd's syndicates and many more across the UK. We are looking to expand our team of focused, aspirational, and collaborative insurance practitioners, and as such we are offering the opportunity to join as a Senior Manager in our Insurance Audit Group to support this challenging and rapidly expanding business. You can expect senior level exposure and variety. You will work with some of the most influential companies in the UK and internationally, offering expert insights across the whole business. Innovation is key for us, underpinned by audit quality. You will be joining a diverse team of experts capable of delivering meaningful and durable change for both our clients and our profession.
Senior Manager – Insurance
- Manage audit engagements and day to day client relationships reporting into your Partner.
- Supervise diverse teams, including specialists to successfully execute engagements in accordance with Deloitte methodology and quality standards, and work to deadlines.
- Drive our continuous improvement in audit methodology.
- Participate in business development, including audit tenders, help develop Deloitte's audit thought leadership to deliver insight to clients.
- Participate and lead on other assurance projects drawing on your skills around accounting, controls and regulation.
- Assume People Leader responsibility and participate in practice management activities, including facilitation of internal training courses and leading community initiatives.
- Engaging with and supporting wellbeing activities within engagement teams and the wider Insurance Team.
Connect to your skills and professional experience
You must have the following in order to qualify for this role:
- Experienced Auditor with a relevant accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CA, ICAS or equivalent.
- Insurance sector experience gained through performing external audits and assurance engagements managing medium to large sized audit engagements and audit teams.
- Experience of the Life Insurance or Bulk Purchase Annuity industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of auditing techniques including risk assessment, scoping, devising and audit approach, controls testing and substantive testing.
- Engagement and people leadership gained through overseeing large complex audits.
- Report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Proven ability to use initiative to investigate and resolve problems.
