Overview
The Senior Finance Manager role in Surrey involves overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This position requires strong expertise in accounting and finance to support the organisation's strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Own complex P&L and balance sheet areas across all UK entities, acting as the subject matter expert.
- Oversee monthly P&L and balance sheet production, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Manage the balance sheet reconciliation process, tracking and escalating issues as needed.
- Understand detailed financial processes to support the team when required.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to the UK Finance team.
- Lead the annual external audit and manage key stakeholder interactions.
- Review weekly and month-end accounting adjustments and ensure accurate system reporting.
- Review information for inclusion in internal and external UK financial reporting.
- Provide ad hoc financial support to the business partnering team.
- Identify operational and technical issues and recommend process and control improvements.
- Oversee month-end close activities to agreed deadlines.
- Review monthly results with the UK Finance team and Business Partners.
- Mentor and support finance team members.
- Ensure financial controls and processes are robust, documented, and consistently applied.
- Champion change initiatives and drive continuous improvements in systems and processes.
- Submit monthly accounts for venues and legal entities to Group and resolve related queries.
- Draft the UK statutory financial statements.

- A professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.
