Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position supports financial reporting, risk management, and audit activities, helping to ensure a strong control environment and adherence to regulatory and tax requirements
Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Financial Controller with the delivery of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, financial reporting and analysis.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
- Prepare and review financial information to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts and financial plans, providing analysis and insight into key variances and business performance.
- Produce regular financial reports and management information for senior stakeholders, highlighting trends, risks and opportunities.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts, audit requirements and other external reporting.
- Work closely with finance and non-finance stakeholders across the business to resolve accounting queries and improve financial processes.
- Support internal controls and financial governance, identifying opportunities to strengthen processes and mitigate financial risk.
- Assist with cash flow management, working capital analysis and monitoring of key financial metrics.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function, including process automation, standardisation and efficiency improvements.
- Provide guidance and support to finance colleagues, helping to maintain high standards of financial control and reporting.
- Develop a strong understanding of the financial performance of a global engineering and manufacturing business operating across international markets.
Profile
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- A CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in the manufacturing sector is an advantage.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
