Overview

UKI Assurance – Audit North – Audit Manager. Our UK and Ireland (UKI) Assurance team is fully integrated, working across borders to help clients deal with issues that are critical to their success, and winning new business as a result. You’ll use your professional skills and experience to make it happen, handling complex audit procedures across a broad range of clients. Your goal will be to help clients achieve their potential.

As an auditor at EY, you will provide independent verification of our clients’ compliance with accounting principles. By doing so, you play a meaningful role in helping businesses accurately reflect their financial picture. Responsibilities

  • Effectively lead fieldwork and manage the audit process, addressing audit risk issues and accounting technical matters, and liaising with relevant departments to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Engage clients, providing authoritative advice and professionalism throughout transactions.
  • Understand clients’ ambitions and needs, referring to colleagues in other areas to broaden relationships.
  • Continuously develop understanding of current market trends and share knowledge to support junior colleagues.
  • Supervise day-to-day team operations.
  • Performance management and coaching of junior colleagues throughout the performance year.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience planning, executing, and reporting on multiple external audits in a managerial capacity.
  • Fully qualified as a chartered accountant (ACA / ACCA / CA / ICAS / ICAEW or international equivalent).
  • Non-financial services industry exposure.
  • Project and people management experience.
  • Evidence of qualification status may be requested pre-interview; applicants should upload a copy of their qualification certificate at the point of application.

Ideal Experience

  • Sector experience in Pharmaceutical; Retail; Automotive; Transportation; Manufacturing; Real Estate; Hospitality; Construction; Energy; Media; Technology; Telecom; Government & Public Sector; Oil, Gas & Utilities; Products & Services.
  • Previous professional experience at Manager level or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of UK market issues; experience using SOX 404 and applying UK GAAP and IFRS; GAM for assurance engagements.
  • Problem-solving with an application- and solution-based approach; collaborative management style.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment; excellent oral and written communication skills.
