Job Description:

Step into a role where you\’ll support both Shell and Joint Venture businesses. Our team is a vibrant and positive place to work, valuing diversity of experience and thought. We believe in fostering an inclusive culture and work environment where you can thrive, innovate, develop, and most importantly, be yourself.
The Impact of Shipping: Did you know that 90% of the world\’s trade travels by ship at some point? The energy required to power the shipping industry for one year is enough to power New York City for 60 years. Decarbonizing shipping is a monumental task that involves changing fuels, operating patterns, and the actual equipment onboard ships. This requires developing infrastructure to get the fuels to ships, creating new ships that enable zero emissions, and developing the new fuels themselves.

Challenges and Opportunities: The opportunity to decarbonize the industry is tremendous, but so are the challenges. Ships have a long lifespan-20 to 40 years-meaning ships built today may still be operating in 2050. Additionally, the cost of new fuels is significantly higher than current dominant shipping fuels. Despite these challenges, Shipping & Maritime in Shell is recognized by industry stakeholders as a leader in ship management, assurance, and technology services. We are proud of our long history as the Group\’s centre of maritime expertise, facilitating the global movement of energy products that support and raise the standard of living for millions of people.

Your Role: If you are up for a challenge and have a personal purpose to enable safe profitable operations and decarbonization of the shipping industry, you could be what we are looking for. The objective of Maritime Assurance is to protect the Shell Group from risks occurring in maritime operations and ensure that vessels, barges, and terminals used by the Shell Group are fully compliant with local, regional, and global regulations. This minimizes the risk of harm to people and the environment, damage to Shell\’s reputation, or financial claims on Shell, while facilitating business in accordance with the Statement of General Business Principles.

Our Team: Our team collaborates with vessel operators from around the globe. We cherish an inclusive environment where different values and perspectives are celebrated, with safety as the top priority in every activity. Expect plenty of support and encouragement while you\’re here. You\’ll work alongside people who share your passion for safety and compliance. We place a high value on career growth, and with significant changes impacting our industry, you\’ll have opportunities to develop new areas of expertise and tackle rewarding challenges in the digital space as we pioneer new ways of working.
Join us and be part of a team that is making a significant impact on the future of shipping and maritime operations.
