Overview The SIA is the organisation responsible for the regulation of private security. It is an independent, arm\’s length body (ALB) of the Home Office, reporting to the Home Secretary, under the terms of the Private Security Industry Act 2001. The SIA\’s purpose is protecting the public through effective regulation of the private security industry and working with partners to raise standards across the sector. Its regulatory remit covers the whole of the United Kingdom.

Job Description Are you ready to take the next step in your finance career and play a pivotal role in a high-profile public body?
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is seeking an experienced and motivated Management Accountant to join our finance team and help strengthen financial insight, governance and performance across the organisation.
In this role, you will work closely with senior leaders, budget holders and operational teams to ensure robust financial control, accurate reporting and high-quality decision support. You will take a lead role in month-end processes, budgeting and forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis, helping stakeholders clearly understand their financial position and risks.
You will provide expert guidance on financial matters, contribute to business planning and organisational projects, and play an active part in improving financial systems, processes and reporting. Your work will directly support the SIA\’s mission to improve public safety by regulating the private security industry – making this a role with genuine purpose and impact.

Person specification Essential Criteria Experience of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Experience with month end processes.
Ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Working knowledge of excel or financial systems.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
Desirable Criteria Relevant qualification in finance or accounting (CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI) or a willingness to study.
Experience in the public sector or similar environment.
