Overview
The role of a Commercial Finance Manager (12M FTC) in the professional services sector involves managing financial planning and analysis to support business decisions. Based in London, this position is pivotal in driving financial performance and ensuring effective financial management.
Responsibilities
- Provide a proactive financial business partnering support service to the fee-earning business units, and build strong relationships with senior leaders.
- Set up and maintain the budget models, liaising with Partners and Senior Managers regarding the completion and submission.
- Support the fee-earning business units with budgeting and forecasting.
- Responsible for preparing financial management information for departments, partners and users as specified.
- Preparing ad hoc analysis of performance and trends which might cover; variance analysis, costs, income, profitability drivers, and annual surveys.
Profile / Qualifications
- Experienced practitioner with relevant accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Availability on short notice to start FTC position.
- Relevant experience within specific area of work in professional services or a partnership would be preferable.
- Experience within area to handle most situations without supervision, using judgement/experience to tackle issues, seeking advice on more complex problems.
- Ability to provide advice and guidance to others.
- Able to establish and maintain strong and credible working relationships and influence others.
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex information/data and understand the impact on their discipline and wider firm.
- Strong computer literacy and understanding of relevant software. Keeps up to date on all required training such as information security.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including communicating with technical and non-technical clients and staff at all organisational levels.
- High levels of commitment and ability to act when necessary.
- Team-focused mentality, understanding that the function must work collaboratively to drive success.
