Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to support its growing European Amazon Advertising business. Amazon Advertising operates at the intersection of advertising and ecommerce and offers advertisers a rich array of innovative advertising solutions across Amazon’s mobile and desktop websites, proprietary devices and DSP solutions. We are breaking fresh ground and pioneering a crucial platform for future Amazon growth. We are entrepreneurial and have a bias for action with a broad mandate to experiment and innovate. This role is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing divisions within Amazon.
We are looking for a Financial Manager to join the EU Ads Sales Finance team. The candidate will be an experienced and highly motivated individual who will be responsible for financial controllership and analytical insights on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. They will conduct in-depth analysis to uncover opportunities or risks and help advise leadership across input metrics and strategic initiatives. The role will work closely with sales and product teams.
This role requires an individual with exceptional analytical abilities, business acumen, strong partnership skills, and a strategic thinker. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Financial controllership, reporting, and planning.
- Analytical insights on input metrics and strategic initiatives. Delivering actionable insights and recommendations.
- Collaboration with sales and product teams.
- Partnership and advisory with senior advertising leadership, VPs, and Directors.
A day in the life
- Weekly reporting for various stakeholders, including sales teams, product teams, and supply teams.
- Deep dive into insights to help drive sales team efforts where opportunities exist.
- Monthly and quarterly reporting with opportunities and risks.
- Day-to-day partnership with EU country managers and ad product leads.
About the team
The EU Ad Sales Finance team supports the growing EU Ads business by partnering with the EU Ad Sales teams based in UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. We work across ad products in the Amazon advertising ecosystem including Prime Video Ads, Prime Video Sports, Twitch, FireTV, OLV, and more. This role is part of the newly formed Pricing & Product Finance team with a strong mandate to maximize the long-term growth of Amazon via optimized planning, performance reviews, and pricing decisions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, or business, or a Bachelor’s degree and experience in a quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance).
- Experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
- Experience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA or CPA.
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
- Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
