Overview

Michael Page are working with a fast-paced well-established Chester that\’s looking to add a Credit Controller to its friendly and supportive team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a busy environment, likes being on the phone, and wants to be part of a down-to-earth, close-knit team where people genuinely enjoy working together. This is a hands-on Credit Control position with responsibility for managing customer accounts and supporting cash flow across the business. You\’ll be working closely with colleagues across finance and operations, so communication and relationship-building are key.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Communicate with customers to address overdue payments and negotiate payment plans.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing issues.
  • Conduct credit checks and assess the creditworthiness of new customers.
  • Assist in the implementation of credit control policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to the Accounting & Finance team as required.

Profile / Qualifications

  • Previous experience in credit control or a similar role within Accounting & Finance.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Knowledge of credit control policies and best practices.
