Responsibility: Responsible for a portfolio of clients across a range of industry sectors, including sole-traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

Client Details: The client is a reputable and leading independent firm with a clear appraisal and development path, allowing for progression through the ranks based on performance. They provide a comprehensive range of business services, including interesting and complex advisory work.
Description: Consistently manage a varied portfolio of clients, including the completion/review of annual accounts and tax computations, and reviewing VAT returns completed by junior staff. Conduct planning meetings with junior staff to relay client knowledge and deadlines, ensuring all accounts and tax returns are filed with the relevant authorities on time. Plan your team's workload to achieve the firm's expected turnaround for jobs. Arrange pre-year-end meetings with clients. Ensure clients' accounting records are maintained accurately and provide management figures as required. Attend client meetings and build relationships to become the main point of contact for your portfolio. Communicate confidently with clients about software options relevant to their needs. Understand and adhere to internal software and procedures. Promote and ensure best practices are followed for all compliance matters. Assist in the completion/review of quarterly VAT returns and filing at HMRC in line with making tax digital. Proactively deal with client queries and cover advice with partners before forwarding to clients. Review external communications and liaise with the Partner on advisory matters. Liaise with clients and HMRC on portfolio matters. Oversee the day-to-day management of the department, including assigning work to staff members. Take responsibility for job performance and recoveries, identifying training needs within the team to develop staff towards their career goals. Undertake staff appraisals for direct reports. Represent the firm externally at various networking events and build relationships in local communities. Contribute to or manage internal projects that may not be directly related to portfolio management. Assist with administrative duties as required by the firm. Effectively manage the financial aspects of the portfolio and maintain control of the WIP level. Collaborate with your department and the rest of the firm, delegating appropriate tasks to staff to further their development.
Profile: Preferred ACA/ACCA qualified. Flexible and approachable under pressure. Proactive, tenacious, and shows initiative at all times. Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Ability to communicate confidently, clearly, and effectively at all levels, ensuring the partner is aware of any client issues. Ability to work closely with other team members and management. A learning mindset with the ability to receive feedback and implement corrective advice to achieve key objectives and service delivery. High level of professionalism to deliver client service excellence. Ability to build excellent relationships with colleagues through role model behavior in line with the Firm's culture and strategic objectives. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines when required. Effective delegation and time management skills. Understand when to escalate technical or client experience issues to the partner or support specialists.
