Our Public Sector Audit team plays a key role in strengthening public accountability by delivering independent audits to local authorities, central government departments, NHS bodies, and other publicly funded organisations. With a strong national presence and a growing public audit portfolio, we support entities that shape society and deliver vital services. What You Will Do
- Lead Audits β Take ownership of audits for local government, NHS, and central bodies, delivering accurate, compliant and high-quality work.
- Build Relationships β Develop strong client connections, acting as a key contact to resolve queries promptly and ensure billing runs smoothly.
- Ensure Excellence β Oversee audit delivery to agreed timescales, ensuring standards, procedures and quality expectations are consistently met.
- Coach & Collaborate β Mentor and support audit assistants and seniors, reviewing work, giving feedback and guiding them through fieldwork.
What You Will Bring
- Professional Qualification β ACA / ACCA / CA (or equivalent).
- Sector Expertise β Experience auditing publicly funded bodies such as local authorities, central government departments, NHS trusts, and other government-aligned organisations.
- Leadership Experience β Ability to take the lead on external audits, supervising and coaching junior staff.
- Technical Knowledge β Strong understanding of UK GAAP (FRS 102), IFRS, and the Companies Act.
- Stakeholder Engagement β Competent managing client communications, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, timely audit services.
