Associate Director, Tax Treasury

ACCA Careers invites applications for the Associate Director, Tax Treasury position in London. This role focuses on privately owned companies and is suitable for experienced Manager or Associate Director level tax professionals.

Job Summary

Deloitte’s Financing & Treasury Tax advisory team is expanding its London and Cambridge presence. The incumbent will advise private companies on complex financing, treasury and tax matters, helping clients with organic growth, international expansion, M&A, refinancing, carve‑outs and disposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice on a wide range of financing and treasury tax projects for privately owned companies.
  • Raising acquisition finance for M&A transactions, including complex instruments such as convertible loans.
  • Conduct interest deductibility reviews (late interest, hybrids, transfer pricing, unallowable purpose, corporate interest restriction rules).
  • Advise on external debt refinancing or restructuring.
  • Manage FX and commodity hedging arrangements.
  • Taxation of derivative contracts such as interest rate swaps, currency forwards, options and warrants.
  • Implement cash management strategies and cash pooling projects.
  • Lead intra‑group reorganisation and loan simplification projects.
  • Coordinate tax advice with specialist teams (M&A Tax, Transfer Pricing, Accounting Advisory, Corporate Treasury, Deloitte Legal).
  • Manage and develop junior team members, providing coaching and continuous training.

Required Skills & Experience

  • UK corporate tax experience (compliance, advisory or transactions).
  • Strong technical knowledge across UK corporation tax areas.
  • Experience or demonstrated competence in financing and treasury tax projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and deliver to high standards.
  • Initiative and problem‑solving skills.
  • Independent workload management and strong team‑working skills.
  • Calm, efficient and resilient under pressure; capable of meeting challenging deadlines.
  • High IT literacy, including Microsoft Office.
