Our Assurance practice encompasses a range of skills across regulation, finance and analytics, providing assurance to those charged with governance and serving the public interest. Working in Assurance means collaborating with leading experts to build and enhance trust between businesses and the public, responding to emerging issues and protecting the public interest.
We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join the Algorithm and AI Assurance team in London. In this role you will support the delivery of projects to clients in the algorithm and AI space, applying specialized assurance skills to assess risks and controls, and providing independent assurance on compliance with new regulations.
Responsibilities- Work within a team to provide professional services across the Algorithm and AI Assurance focus areas.
- Provide assurance on large technology platforms' compliance with emerging internet regulations such as the Digital Markets Act, Digital Services Act and EU AI Act.
- Complete algorithm and AI control reviews and control testing, applying Deloitte’s proprietary assurance procedures.
- Support day‑to‑day delivery of project objectives, client interaction and regular reporting to team leads.
- Prepare deliverables including written reports, working papers and summary analyses.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality and risk requirements.
- Collaborate effectively in diverse, inclusive teams and contribute to cross‑service line engagements.
- Adapt quickly to new situations and enjoy variety across client engagements.
- Strong interest in regulatory requirements impacting algorithms and emerging AI regulation (e.g., EU AI Act, Digital Services Act, Digital Markets Act).
- Experience in risk and control assessments, preferably in IT, algorithm or AI related fields.
- Highly proficient written and oral communication, including senior stakeholder deliverables.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Advanced analytical skills, proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Strong project management skills: approach design, junior staff management, client stakeholder management, and timely reporting.
- Proven track record of developing strong client relationships.
- Highly motivated, committed and positive with an ambitious attitude.
- Internal or external audit experience, especially designing and testing controls, including IT control testing.
- Experience in algorithm technology control enhancement and regulatory change projects.
- Experience with control frameworks or framework enhancement related to algorithms or AI.
- Programming or data modelling and analytics experience.
Based in London, you will work under a hybrid model combining local office, virtual collaboration spaces, client sites and remote work, supporting flexibility to balance career and personal life.
