Assistant Accountant – ACCA Careers

The permanent Assistant Accountant role at ACCA Careers is based in Reading and focuses on supporting financial operations within the Technology & Telecoms industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Administer key balance‑sheet functions, including Inventory, Fixed Assets, Right‑of‑Use Assets and Intangible Assets.
  • Support the reconciliation of accounts and ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Process month‑end journals such as accruals, prepayments, additions and disposals.
  • Help prepare budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to streamline financial processes.
  • Provide support for audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Contribute to the preparation of tax returns and other statutory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Relevant academic qualifications in accounting or finance (fully AAT qualified or part‑qualified in CIMA or ACCA).
  • Demonstrable prior experience within month‑end finance processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
