As an Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting critical financial and governance functions within the Accounting and Finance department of a high‑growth Venture Capital firm. Based in the heart of the City of London, this role is ideal for a detail‑oriented and proactive professional who is committed to ensuring regulatory compliance, driving operational efficiency, and upholding the highest standards of corporate governance.
Responsibilities
- Process invoices, payments, and expenses across group companies
- Maintain cash trackers, bank reconciliations, and accurate financial records
- Prepare draft management accounts, board packs, budgets, and forecasts
- Support variance analysis and liaise on VAT, tax, and audit matters
- Maintain statutory registers and file Companies House submissions
- Draft board minutes, resolutions, and support board meetings
- Coordinate with legal, tax, and compliance advisors as needed
Qualifications
- AAT qualified or part‑qualified ACCA/CIMA, with a strong academic background in finance, accounting, or a related field
- 1-3 years’ experience in Banking & Finance
- Strong analytical, organisational, and administrative skills with high attention to detail
- Proficient in accounting tools and Excel; able to manage reporting across multiple entities
- Good understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks in financial services
- Legal or company secretarial experience is a plus
- Professional, proactive, and capable of working independently
Compensation
- Competitive annual salary of £35,000 to £45,000, depending on experience
