Since 2014, Acast has been creating the world’s most valuable podcast marketplace, building the technology which connects podcast creators, advertisers and listeners. Its marketplace spans more than 100,000 podcasts, 2,300 advertisers and 400 million monthly listens. The company operates worldwide and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.
We have a new opportunity for a Legal Counsel with a strong commercial contract and copyright background to join the global legal team in London. In this role you will support a wide range of commercial matters for all aspects of the Acast business, including global content and distribution contracts, advertising sales agreements and general commercial contractual issues across strategy, content, sales, PR and communications.
The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting commercial documentation relating to all activities of the UK/Ireland business, including agreements relating to podcast content, sales business and other bespoke partnerships. In addition to supporting the UK/Ireland business in general, the Legal Counsel will also support the content and sales teams around the globe in drafting and negotiating agreements with content creators, publishers, advertisers and media agencies.
Who you are:
- A qualified lawyer (2-3 PQE) with relevant commercial experience
- Degree level qualified LLB in Law or equivalent
- Outstanding legal and commercial judgment
- The ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
- A solid understanding of the principles of contractual and commercial law
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for the role with a “can do” attitude
- The ability to prioritize efficiently, and communicate regularly and appropriately with other departments is essential
- You are comfortable working independently, and have the ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Knowledge of the digital/media/advertising industry is an advantage but not essential
