About The Role
As Group Business Director, based in London and reporting to MD Josh Woodhouse, you will oversee a business patch worth around £15M, working alongside three other experienced Directors. We seek a confident, tenacious leader with sales and collaborative leadership experience, ready to grow within the vibrant podcast media space. This is a maternity cover position starting August/September.
What You’ll Do
- Support and develop your sales team, prioritizing support, happiness, and motivation.
- Create individual development plans for each salesperson.
- Manage escalations, holiday coverage, and expenses at the group level.
- Lead by example and represent Acast at industry events.
- Resolve challenges creatively involving multiple stakeholders.
Develop and execute commercial strategies specific to your patch, maintaining Acast’s position as a leading podcast marketplace. Build relationships with senior contacts, provide thought leadership, and work collaboratively with the sales team to deliver tailored strategies. Support large commercial opportunities, including pitches and negotiations, and coach sellers through the sales cycle.
Who You Are
- Proven team management experience.
- Established relationships with senior agency contacts, preferably within Group M/WPP.
- Strong understanding of the podcast and wider audio industry.
- Knowledge of video and social media platforms.
