The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Fleet, Glasgow, Leeds or Manchester Office with an element of working from home. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in Great Britain and not overseas. Informal hybrid arrangements are available and the balance between home and workplace working is to be agreed with the line manager to achieve the right balance between collaboration, in-person engagement and flexibility. While you are required to select the nearest Acas office to your home, the role requires travel to workplaces within the corresponding region.

Job Summary

In this role you will be part of a Training Delivery Team, with a focus on delivering high quality training events (both online and in-person) - at workplace locations and on our open-access courses - covering employment law, good practice, and good line management skills. It also involves business development work - following up on leads and dealing with online, Acas Helpline and Customer Service Team referrals to generate interest in our products and services. There is a strong emphasis on building customer relations. The Training Delivery Team members are supportive and share knowledge, skills and advice amongst each other - which is a real team strength. You will collaborate in designing and adapting training materials for raising the standards of line manager skills in workplaces and meeting the needs of employers, employees, and their representatives.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for delivering - either digitally (using platforms such as Zoom and Teams) or at various locations in the region - Acas open access courses, workplace training, chargeable and non-chargeable talks, and Acas Webinars.
  • To undertake business development activities, including identification and follow up of opportunities to raise Acas' profile and increase its reach and impact.
  • To self-manage effectively, including time, work priorities and administrative tasks - contributing to the overall strategy and planning of the Training Delivery Team.
  • Supporting and collaborating with the Product Development Team in creating training content material.
  • Ensuring that all contractual paperwork is completed for all chargeable work activity.
  • Systems Records - accountable for ensuring all relevant systems are updated with accurate data in a timely manner.
  • Supporting the wider Training Delivery Team by ensuring delegate feedback is captured appropriately.
  • To contribute to Acas’ operational and financial objectives by delivering appropriate training activities.

Essential Criteria:

  • Meeting the needs of a group of stakeholders, customers or trainees with demonstrated good outcomes (Lead).
  • Seeking out and sharing experiences to develop knowledge of the team’s business area.
  • Identifying capability gaps for self and/or others.
  • Ensuring colleagues and/or stakeholders have a clear understanding of objectives, activities, and timeframes.
  • Involving a diverse range of colleagues and/or delivery partners (within and/or external to your immediate team/area of work) in developing suggestions for improvements.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Competent with using Zoom, MS Teams and PowerPoint.

Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that you hold a full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Understanding of Human Resource (HR) practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment relations and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.

Alongside your salary of £35,312, Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service contributes £10,229 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
