Academy21 is seeking a Primary Teacher (remote working, permanent contract with flexible Annualised Working Time). This role is with Academy21, part of Inspired Online Schools.

Role Summary

This role is offered with an innovative, permanent Annualised Working Time contract offering unrivalled flexibility for teachers. Job Title: Leader of Learning (Teacher) – Primary. Company: Academy21, part of Inspired Online Schools. Contract: Permanent, with start dates in November 2025. Working Hours: Part time (annualised working time). Our permanent roles are offered on our innovative and flexible Annualised Working Time Contract.

You will have a part time FTE across the year but a more flexible working pattern that you will know in advance. This means that in some periods of the year you will work under your FTE and in others above it, always equalling the same working time as your yearly FTE as a whole. You will be paid the same for every month regardless of working time. This is a unique and flexible contract with all the benefits of a permanent role.

Location: Remotely from home (UK)

Salary: £34,500 - £43,350 per annum (pro-rata) depending on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan for and teach a range of classes to ensure student engagement and progress.
  • Safeguard the welfare of students, including following defined safeguarding processes.
  • Inspire, motivate and provide purposeful subject knowledge for students within the school.
  • Be up to date on current research and emerging pedagogy through active engagement in professional development.
  • Teach and assess students regularly, using timely and adaptive methods as well as the range of teaching tools provided.
  • Take a leading role in maintaining a positive and inspirational learning climate in their classroom and the department, and where appropriate, integrate your subject learning across the curriculum.
  • Support the development of priorities for improvement and the self-evaluation of the school’s effectiveness.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing a high-quality school environment and profile and act as a role model by their professional conduct and disposition.
  • Provide guidance and advice to students on educational, wellbeing and safeguarding matters.
  • Provide or contribute to assessments, reports and references relating to students in a timely manner.
  • Participate in meetings and staff CPD opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE with QTS)
  • Excellent subject knowledge
  • Awareness of how to motivate students who may be highly anxious or whose circumstances may be challenging
  • Knowledge of correct and up to date safeguarding procedures and regulations
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Change and business improvement focused
  • Able to work effectively in dynamic and changing environments
  • Experience working in the primary, secondary or college sector
  • Experience working in state or independent school sector
  • Experience creating resources and the ability to review and enhance our current course delivery
  • Computer literate with the ability to teach online using technology applications
