Academy Receptionist

NJC Point 4 - 6 £21,661 to £22,353 per annum

37 hours per week, Term time only

Working hours: Mon – Thurs 08:00–16:00 / Fri 08:00–15:30

Westbourne Academy are looking for an Academy Receptionist to join our dedicated team and uphold the Academy’s vision and values.

About you

We are looking for a positive and committed individual who has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, a pro‑active approach and the ability to work independently, as well as the ability to relate well to visitors, staff and students. The receptionist works at the front of school, creates a good first impression for visitors and phone callers and values safeguarding and security. The receptionist deals with a wide range of academy and community stakeholders and their queries, and they are the first point of contact. Confidentiality and tact are needed at all times, and the Receptionist must know when and whom to refer matters of concern.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, staff and students.
  • Answer telephone calls and forward messages.
  • Manage front of school security and safeguarding procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Refer matters of concern to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

  • GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
