Beck Row Primary Academy are looking for a fixed term Teaching Assistant to work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils. This role will involve promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion and give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so that they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement. This role will also support the school’s wider range of extracurricular activities such as breakfast and/or after school clubs.

Contract details

  • Contract Type: Fixed term ending 31 August 2026
  • Hours: 35 hours per week / 39 weeks per year (Term time only)
  • NJC Scale: 2 - 4
  • Actual Salary: £19,862 - £20,490 per annum
  • FTE Salary: £24,412 - £25,184 per annum

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for supporting pupils, individually or in groups, to access the curriculum;
  • Promote independence, self-esteem and social inclusion;
  • Help learners participate in lessons and feel a sense of achievement;
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment;
  • Support the school’s extracurricular activities such as breakfast and/or after school clubs.

Qualifications and requirements

The successful candidate will hold GCSE level (to include English and Maths grade C/4 or equivalent). First aid training or willingness to undertake training is essential.
