The Academy of Live Technology (ALT) is seeking an experienced Registry Director to lead our academic registry and student administration functions during an exciting period of growth and change. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across academic governance, student records, quality assurance, compliance, and regulatory reporting, supporting ALT's transition to an independent higher education provider with Degree Awarding Powers from September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Academic governance and regulatory compliance
  • Student records, enrolment, progression and awards
  • HESA, OfS and statutory reporting
  • Quality assurance and enhancement processes
  • Registry systems and data management
  • Academic regulations, policies and procedures
  • Leadership and development of the Registry team
  • UKVI sponsorship compliance and international student administration (desirable)

Qualifications

  • Significant senior-level experience within a higher education Registry or academic administration environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK higher education regulation, governance and quality assurance frameworks
  • Experience managing student records systems and academic administration processes
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills
  • The ability to work strategically whilst maintaining operational effectiveness

Desirable Experience

  • UKVI sponsorship and compliance
  • Degree Awarding Powers or university title processes
  • Experience within a specialist or creative higher education provider

Benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional evening and weekend working may be required with time off in lieu.
